Ellow was founded from a deep respect for thoughtful hairdressing and beautifully crafted results. With roots in the north of England, founder Josh Carr began his journey in the industry at a young age, learning the importance of consistency, technique, and hair health. After moving to Australia, this foundation shaped what would become Ellow The Salon in Brookvale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
What began as a personal vision has grown into a shared one. Today, Ellow is a collective of skilled, considered stylists who believe in calm expertise, lived-in colour, and long-lasting results. We specialise in blonde, balayage, and precision colour work, with every service guided by a detailed consultation and a focus on low-maintenance, natural outcomes tailored to the individual.
We are not a cookie-cutter salon. No two guests or hair journeys are the same. Our team works intentionally, taking the time to listen, plan, and create results that feel effortless, personal, and true to you.
Ellow is proud to be a sustainable salon, partnering with Sustainable Salons to recycle up to 97% of salon waste, including hair, foils, and colour materials. This commitment allows us to care for both our guests and the environment without compromising on quality.
We exclusively use Original Mineral (O&M) colour, a low-tox, PPD-free, PETA-approved professional colour system chosen to support scalp health and hair integrity. To complement our colour work, we offer Kérastase haircare and in-salon treatments to support strength, shine, and long-lasting results between visits.
